Grammarly’s Apps…Mygully Grammarly…
I set up the Grammarly desktop app on my Windows 10 device and had no problems signing in to my account. The app looks fantastic and the layout is extremely functional; I especially like the side panel’s minimalist icons and dark accents. Users can select between composing text straight in an editor and importing an existing document.
If you just paste and copy text from a Word document into the Grammarly app, Grammarly states it just retains italic and vibrant format, headers, lists, and links. You won’t see any formatted text while you work in the Grammarly editor, but the document keeps all of the original formatting whenever you export it.
Given that the editor now luckily includes format tools such as for bold, italics, underlines, headings, lists, and links (both bulleted and numbered), you might just compose directly in the Grammarly app. However, it’s most likely easier to keep writing in Word or Google Docs and use the devoted Grammarly tools for those platforms. Within a document, the best side of the window houses tabs for spelling and grammar errors, premium composing checks, a plagiarism checker, a human proofreader option, and an overall composing score based on these elements. Two other features offered are Goals and Efficiency. Objectives launches whenever you import a new file; it assists Grammarly change its edits based on the context of your writing. You can define your intent (notify, describe, persuade, inform a story), feeling, design, and audience. Premium users can select in between different writing domains, including Academic, Company, and Creative. The Efficiency popup shows you general data such as word count and reading time, in addition to vocabulary and readability metrics. These metrics are determined based on comparison with other Grammarly users and the Readability score is based on the Flesch reading-ease test. Both additions make Grammarly more useful at a higher level than that of simple mistake checking.
I still use Grammarly on a regular basis to check whatever I post on this blog site. I have a pretty good grasp on grammar and English guidelines already, but it’s unexpected how typos and small mistakes can creep into anyone’s writing.
