I set up the Grammarly desktop app on my Windows 10 machine and had no issues signing in to my account. The app looks great and the layout is highly functional; I particularly like the side panel’s dark accents and minimalist icons. Users can pick in between making up text directly in an editor and importing an existing document.
If you just paste and copy text from a Word file into the Grammarly app, Grammarly states it just retains italic and vibrant formatting, links, headers, and lists. In testing, I discovered that it likewise kept underlined text. Use the import tool to include the document if you want to keep the complete formatting of the text (consisting of paragraph spacing). You will not see any formatted text while you work in the Grammarly editor, but the document retains all of the original format whenever you export it.
