Grammarly’s Apps…Grammarly Chinese…
I set up the Grammarly desktop app on my Windows 10 machine and had no issues signing in to my account. The app looks fantastic and the layout is highly practical; I particularly like the side panel’s dark accents and minimalist icons. Users can pick between making up text directly in an editor and importing an existing file.
If you just paste and copy text from a Word file into the Grammarly app, Grammarly states it just retains strong and italic format, headers, links, and lists. In screening, I discovered that it also kept highlighted text. Use the import tool to add the file if you want to keep the full format of the text (including paragraph spacing). You will not see any formatted text while you work in the Grammarly editor, but the document maintains all of the original formatting whenever you export it.
Given that the editor now luckily consists of formatting tools such as for strong, italics, underlines, headings, links, and lists (both numbered and bulleted), you could just compose straight in the Grammarly app. However, it’s most likely easier to keep writing in Word or Google Docs and use the dedicated Grammarly tools for those platforms. Goals launches whenever you import a brand-new document; it helps Grammarly change its edits based on the context of your writing. Both additions make Grammarly more useful at a greater level than that of simple mistake checking.
However, I still use Grammarly on a regular basis to proofread whatever I post on this blog site. I have a respectable grasp on grammar and English rules already, however it’s surprising how typos and small errors can creep into anyone’s writing.
So what is Grammarly? Is it worth it? And can it change a human proofreader or editor?
