I set up the Grammarly desktop app on my Windows 10 machine and had no issues signing in to my account. The app looks fantastic and the layout is highly practical; I particularly like the side panel’s dark accents and minimalist icons. Users can pick between making up text directly in an editor and importing an existing file.
If you just paste and copy text from a Word file into the Grammarly app, Grammarly states it just retains strong and italic format, headers, links, and lists.
